Cool Stuff

When I started my website, google page creator was very limited. In that year, they have been improving the interface. Now you can edit the html code, but also add in things in gui way. One of those things is gadgets! I found this gadget, the idiot test, and I thought that it is pretty funny. I only got to 'average' the first time, since the test is very hard to give a complement, I think that is very a good score. But I'm sure some of my friends can do a lot better.

Check it out, here is the link: http://cameron.musgrove.googlepages.com/idiot_test

Progress

I'm feeling better about the house thing. The bank said they may be able to make the coupon deadline, and I turned in all my paperwork. The movers should be able to move us quicker than I thought. I'm waiting for house insurance quote, and for the seller to accept the bank's opinion letter. I think the seller is being too picky. I already sent them a pre-approval letter, but they said that it was not enough. Well, if you add the down payment, it is plenty so I don't understand the problem. I didn't know that they didn't like the pre-approval letter I sent on Tuesday until this afternoon. I think 48 hours is crazy time to find out. I guess this should teach me to be right on-top of those people with everything I send them. Once the seller gets the bank's opinion, I can set the close date!

I'm looking for a bank in Albuquerque. My bank is a local one, and not in Albuquerque. It is a really good account that pays 5% APY, refunds other bank's atm fees, and free checks. I haven't be able to find anything that comes close. The highest checking interest rate I've seen is .85%. That is a severe drop. I'm gonna try to hold on to my account for as long as I can. I'll get a free account if I need a local bank. Also, I can't find a money market account to beat Discover Bank's money market rate. I did find one bank that is 1% behind. I would like my money to be in all one place that can count my spare change for free. Does anyone know of a place like that?

Long time no blog

It has been a while since I blogged up here. I usually like to do it when the mood hits, but at least once a week. I guess I've been keeping myself busy. After the offer letter came, I had to send it back and get all that paperwork moving and find a place to live. My wife and I want to get a house; and we are neck deep into that process as I type. More details may come.

I graduated !!! I guess I'm supposed to feel all-of-a-sudden different, but I don't. This time life has sucked that feeling out of it. When I was in high school, it felt all-of-a-sudden different. Like something had changed. I was moving to a different state (after moving into a hotel room), and soon after I would start college 600 miles away from my parents. When I graduated with my bachelors, it felt different, but not that drastic. I stayed in town, at the same school to my masters. But I did get married and move to a new apartment. Now that I've graduated not much has changed. I won't see my new job for more than a month; I'm still going through the motions of my old/current job. I'm still living in the same place; it's been two and a half months since I've seen the house we want to buy (and we're too shy to take pictures). What has got me down lately is buying the house and completing the job offer; trying to coordinate all the forms, deadlines, sign forms, get told by the school registrar to piss off (don't get me started!!), and talk to an increasing number of people about a start date.

I suppose I would not be so stressed about it, if it didn't cost so much for me not to work. Starting as soon as I can has put the deadlines on. I believe it should be possible get the house and start in January.

Well, tomorrow I'll get a school form I need for start date. That plus drug test results should allow a date to be confirmed. Once I get a date confirmed (which I really hope can happen before Christmas), the bank will be able to close !

Two

Two posts for today. Things have changed since the last post. I was really tired when I did it, and I was avoiding homework, too.

Since then, a recruiter called, asked if I was still looking... I said, "sure" since that answer only means that hiring managers will see my resume.

Then Albuquerque called!!!! I got a job offer for Albuquerque!!!

Then another company called.... asked if I was still interested... I said no! Since I now have a job offer I'm gonna take!

Tomorrow I'll get the official letter!!!

Famous?

Did you know that whenever people look at OSU ECEN website, they see my work?

http://www.ece.okstate.edu/research_electromagnetics.php

On that page, there is this picture of the reverb chamber me and my team built, that I took with my camera! I think that is sooo cool!!

Also, on the main ECEN page, if you refresh it enough, you'll see a picture of my HKN pledge class!!

And, according to google, if someone wants to "build a reverberation chamber," my senior design report is the number 5 result? (It looks like the most relevant link, too).

So, I would say that I am a little bit famous. (Although, saying my work has been published is a more accurate description.)
